Lancing hoses are heavy-duty, high-performance hoses designed specifically for oxygen and water transfer in LD steel mills. These hoses are made from SS321 Series A700/800 stainless steel, featuring double wire braiding and an inner double interlock liner that ensures laminar flow of oxygen and water. The flange connections at both ends are equipped with hinge bolts and a tongue-and-groove sealing face, and support flanges are added based on customer requirements.
To maintain safety and performance, all parts of the hose that come in contact with oxygen are oil and grease-free, ensuring that the inner hose remains ultrasonically clean. Additionally, an outer interlock profile hose provides further mechanical protection. The inner liner, made of interlock hose, is specifically used for oxygen supply to improve flow conditions and reduce pressure loss.
These hoses typically range in length from 9 meters to 30 meters and are essential in the steel production process. In steel mills, pig iron produced in blast furnaces is treated with oxygen, which is lanced onto the molten iron at regular intervals to encourage combustion of excess carbon and remove unwanted elements.
The flexible design of the lancing hose allows it to move over several meters in both vertical and horizontal directions, and it is installed in a 180-degree bend position for optimal movement and operation. Oxygen and water are fed through separate hoses to ensure efficient and controlled processing.
